Overview

Our client, a prominent leader in compliance solutions for the life sciences industry, sought to broaden their reach beyond the US market. Their objective was to create a robust platform that could meet the specific data collection and transparency reporting demands of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) while maintaining compliance across diverse global markets.

Challenge

The primary challenge was developing a solution that not only complied with the emerging EFPIA standards but also was versatile enough to handle the complexities of multi-language support (over 30 languages) and multi-currency transactions (over 40 currencies). It was crucial for the platform to provide native language and currency support for each country's jurisdiction while harmonizing these elements for cross-border analysis and transactions.

Solution

Utilizing Microsoft’s Azure platform, we engineered a microservices-based global transparency reporting system. This platform was designed to aggregate and harmonize data, ensuring compliance with global transparency reporting regulations. A key feature of our solution was the ability to generate pixel-perfect reports based on customizable templates, catering to the unique requirements of each manufacturer and jurisdiction.

The system provides a comprehensive interface for maintaining and managing data, monitoring and auditing engagements, and tracking transfers of value (TOVs) to ensure compliant interactions with Health Care Professionals (HCPs) across more than 40 countries.

Since its inception in 2014, this system has been pivotal in aiding our client in their expansion into international markets. It stands as a testament to our ability to deliver complex, compliant, and user-friendly solutions in the demanding field of life sciences. Over 180,000 hours have been dedicated to the development, maintenance, and support of this platform, reflecting our commitment to creating enduring and adaptable solutions.
